The most interesting evidence is often the least dramatic. That’s something I noticed when comparing a Blue Book report with several Air Force-adjacent Majestic documents. Five different unacknowledged USAF MJ documents have a handwritten date in the upper-right corner. At least one acknowledged Air Force Blue Book file shows the same style handwritten annotated date, in the same place, and with the same handwriting, as the Majestic Documents. Here are the Majestic documents for reference, with the Blue Book document (dated August 2, 1948) at the end: 16 July 1947: 2 September 1947: 20 September 1947: 25 September 1947: 17 December 1947: 2 August 1948: The Blue Book “Control” Doc. The one Blue Book file serves as the control here, because it is an acknowledged Air Force intelligence file from the same time period covering July 1947 to August 1948. Because the same handwritten dating pattern appears across both the acknowledged and unacknowledged documents presented, the logical inference is that all of these USAF intelligence documents originated from the same source, the same individual who consistently applied this annotation. That poses a problem for the hoax document conspiracy theorists. If the MJ documents are just a big hoax, why do they share this weirdly specific handwritten date habit with an acknowledged Air Force UFO file from the exact same time period? Why does that “real” Blue Book page look like it belongs in the same file stack as the purportedly “bogus” MJ documents? As I have said time and again, the strongest evidence is often not the sexy part of the document. Frequently, the boring details nobody was supposed to notice are what’s most important. This has become almost axiomatic in my experience researching this history. Here, once again the boring part contains the tell. The same upper-right handwritten date appears across the Air Force–MJ material and the acknowledged Air Force Blue Book intelligence report. This evidence strongly suggests that these five unacknowledged Majestic intelligence documents ultimately originated from the same source as the acknowledged Air Force UFO intelligence report.
